Park Slope invites disaster. From the plane crash 50 years ago, to the tornados and hailstorms and now blizzard of 2010. They always end up with the worst of it.
Perhaps god is paying it back for its heathen ways. Repent all you park slopers.

troofuses! the same can be said for people who cream their bloomers over period appropriate details, but i don’t go there.
i feel like my vacation has essentially been ruined by the snow. if im not outside annoyed as hell im inside annoyed as hell. where i live, outside, also smells gross. and this is going to be disgusting for weeks, all the water and flooding and puddles. this shit better be gone by next monday or im going to cry.
there are turds EVERYWHERE in the snow. hey people, just cuz your dog is shitting in a big mound of snow doesnt mean you can leave it there! also if im already in the middle of a tiny shoveled path and you are about the enter the path while im halfway THROUGH it, dont expect me to jump in a big turd and pissed infested snow pile just for you and your stroller. not happening! wait for the person getting out of the trail! wtf?
Department Suspends Refuse and Recycling Pickup in order to Clear City of Snow
In order to ensure that all city streets are plowed and salted throughout the current blizzard, the Department of Sanitation has announced that all scheduled refuse and recycling pickups will be suspended citywide. Announcements will be made when curbside pickups will resume. For any Sanitation related questions on the most up-to-date information, residents can call 3-1-1 or visit http://www.nyc.gov/sanitation.
There is smoke coming from a grate in front of the driveway of the house next door. Someone called the FD who came by and checked our basements. They said it’s no problem but taped the area off for when Con Ed can get here (not for at least 12 hours). After a while, we started hearing a thumping sound occasionally from the smoking area. Now it’s almost constant and sounds like fireworks in the distance. People come out of houses up and down the block because of the smoke and noise. The FD has been called at least 3 times by different people because the sound and smoke are so scary.
Even though we’ve been reassured by the FD, it’s disturbing to keep hearing what sounds like little explosions.
Otherwise, the snow is beautiful and I’m so glad we haven’t heard about any power outages!
And, by the way, drivers in this stuff are idiots and should get huge fines if they get stuck!!! Streets are not being blocked by bicycles!!!

I can attest to the fact that there is a very big difference between $5 wine and $10 wine. Anything else is beyond my budget.
perhaps should pay snow shoveler by a formula — inches of snow * width of house.

drinking white zin is only acceptable if you drink ALOT of it. like 3 bottles minimum, or out of a box.
No garbage pickup.

“DH- I spent most of my teens eating Stouffers French Bread Pizza – my favorite was the deluxe…
do you still eat them? are they any good?”
haha – i have a deluxe in the oven right now!!
“Lech, you are wrong about the wine”
Oh really? Do you agree with the premise that the greatest wine in the world could be mass produced and cheap as water?
