  1. When you look at the photos in that article and read about the racial tensions, you realize that New York City, and Brooklyn in particular, have come a long, long way from those dark days.

    Not that most of you care, but RIP to Philly Brownstoner. It is too bad — content was great and I thought a real boon for that City. Never quite got the traction or revenue as here. Perhaps RE isn’t the combat sport there that it is here, or they were still a few biff/dibs/noki/thl/brg-style hijackings away from taking off (no diss to you later hijackers, just talking about the way pre-OT stuff that escalated the comment levels here.

    I am not sure this site would take off the same way if it launched now. I don’t think people eat/sleep/breathe RE in BK quite the way they did before 2008.
