lechacal, I think I agree with you on taste, especially when you mentioned the strawberries. I’ve only grown heirloom tomatoes and sometimes better, sometimes not. You are right about most of the chickens too…it’s not necessarily an “organic” thing with them since they are fed naturally in most all cases but how they are actually raised, under what circumstances.
donatella…search the Forum under “Glass” and look for my recommendation. These guys are local are VERY responsive. I highly recommend them. They charged me $75 to replace on of my tracks with a window that wouldn’t stay up. They also came out to replace glass ($175 for a big window) but yes, you’re going to have to pay a minimum like that to get them there. Call them and see what they say…I can’t remember the name.
I disagree on taste difference DIBS – especially with fleshy fruits that have been bred to get super plumped up with water.
Another example – Most meat chickens these days are barely even functioning animals any more. They have been bred to put on massive bulk in the breast and other areas. They can barely walk on their own. They are pretty horrifying to look at. And the meat is all plump and watery and flavorless. Older breeds of meat chicken have tons of flavor compared to these things.

We put the bird feeders out here over the weekends. The cats are having a field day in the windows.

“Organic” to most people means no fertilizer.
Thanks, Dave.
