Lech, one of the best snacks I’ve had are Gusanos de Maguay, fried, crispy Yucca cactus worms. Only available in mexico, probably also in the southwest.
(Speaking of the A-bomb) Quick, without googling, who knows what lines from what ancient text Robet Oppenheimer recited upon seeing the explosion of the first A-bomb test?
I once ate a live earthworm on a dare. Right down the hatch, swallowed whole while wriggling. Oh then word got out and other people wanted to see me do it so I did it like 5 or 6 more times.
Not sure, lech but I think the new Taro Sushi on Flatbush has it. i have not been there yet because they haven’t gotten a liquor license and, unlike Bed Stuy restaurants, won’t let you BYOB before they get the license.
i will look into it in Manhattan near us. I think the place on 2nd near 54 may have it.
It’s not the taste that westerners have a problem with (rather earthy and non descript) it’s the texture which is like snot.
Thinking about natto makes my stomach flip. It is rotten soybeans, gooey and fermented. It is a Tokyo thing. People from other areas of Japan seem to feel the way I do. But it is part of the Cultural test some Japanese give to gaijins…..Do you eat with chopsticks….do you like sushi….do you blah blah…..do you blah blah….do you LIKE NATTO?
“Holy shit!!!!” Genesis 2:17-19

I think that if the government wants to increase revenue and close the deficit gap, we should sell Hawaii and Guam to Japan.
Discuss.
Ginko nut yakitori smells like dog poop.
Dona, I like kimchi, that’s rotten too.
For real now I want to try this natto stuff.
