I have a dumb umbrella from a former place of employ. It’s ugly as sin, so of course it refuses to break!
“Surprise” visit by our new CEO imminent. Everyone was asked to clean their desks first thing this morning. My writer’s group is tonight and I overdressed b/c some opera singer is going to entertain us (long story). C’est bon.

Actually, I was up at 4AM, the back up power/surge protector attached to my computer etc. was beeping like mad. (Needs a new battery — $50!) Like I need ANOTHER thing to worry about! : P
Those umbrellas are for golf courses. Lech, I think you should get rid of yours because it probably has bad vibrations in its fibers (Bear Stearns….hows that for Cartesian logic).
I am getting rid of mine.
Anyhow, I think that there is something extremely bad going on with texting and compulsive attention to PDAs/phones. Should a person cross 42nd and 3rd be looking where they are going? I think so, but apparantly a lot of people are fine with walking and texting/reading their phones there.
The other day I was behind a person going up the steps at Grand Central reading a novel while she climbed the stairs.

i never took an economics class, i sorta wish i did tho. but arent the first ones you take like macro and micro? they looked really really really really really really boring… tho im sure probably would have been more informative and useful than most of the classes i did take
