  1. “By denton on December 1, 2010 11:27 AM – I will comment on the uber-liberal ‘Nickeled and Dimed’ book so beloved by WalMart haters.”

It has the same basic flaw as 90% of liberal thinking. No sense of cause and effect. The basic premise is that someone who is in a shitty position has been pushed down to that position by everyone around them who has power – rather than being pulled up to that position from an even shittier position.

  2. ArPUMA, I’ll be happy to make latkes and applesauce for you again, but there will be far too many people for me to bring latkes to Noki.

Extra points for anyone who knows the “pork chops and applesauce” reference.

  3. denton — 60+ units in the Slope? Counting all forms of ownership, I think that would be limited to 35 PPW, the subsidized housing @ 5th & 9th, maybe 5 bldgs around Prez or Carroll on 8th Ave, and Castle Senior Living by GAP.

  4. I would have had some choice comments in the Wal Mart oops I mean Whole Foods thread… but read it too late.

I will comment on the uber-liberal ‘Nickeled and Dimed’ book so beloved by WalMart haters.

It is fundamentally flawed because it followed people for only six months. People move up and people move down in this country. For all we know, one of those folx is now store manager making 100k.

  5. Greetings from San Jose. Rather cold here (for this locale). In the low 40’s last night.

Last night I ate in a place called “Vito’s New York Trattoria”. The name says it all, I suppose. You know what makes it worse: they play continuous Frank Sinatra music to prove their authenticity. Ack!!! The food actually wasn’t that bad, though.

Montrose, are you out there? Are we going to take the tour this Saturday? Saturday morning would be good for me. Donatella: want to end the tour off with Spumoni Gardens?

Got to go now – I’ll look at the thread later to see your response.
