ROOT-X, thanks denton.
Wouldn’t it be kind of funny to go to lots of Christmas parties and have the tree shrivel up and die the day after you go to each party? Everyone would start calling around trying to figure out who was at which party and trying to play detective and put all of the pieces together. And if you get busted you can just blame one of your kids.
Slopey – Here’s the bumf. For CBS, NBC & ABC I need to aim at 333 degrees & they’re between 3 & 5 miles distance. For PBS it’s 7 degrees. the compass pts cited are based upon magnetic North, not true North; i.e. the curved face of the anntenna should point at 350 degrees from Magnetic North.
Slopefarm, If you are paying for Internet and Phone anyway, might as well do the Verizon FIOS bundle at $80 for 2 years and get cable. by the time the 2 years is up almost everything will be available easily online and you can switch back to just phone and internet.
Toshiba TV’s are very reliable and have great picture, just not known for great sound. Doesn’t matter if you are running through a stereo.
Agree with Denton on Blue Ray – Costco has a sony on sale for $89 that does Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, etc.
arkady you have a problem getting in 13? that seems to work well for me at night. i think i even get 13-2. i do hate how with these antennaes it has to be PERFECT in order for you to get a picture versus with old analog you could still watch but a little fuzzy. have cable in the living room but too lazy to run a wire into my bedroom.
i dont watch enough cable shows to justify it there anyway
hmm then slope i couldnt help you. i stopped keeping up with the latest technology YEARS ago and have no plans and jumping back in anytime soon. it was just this past summer that i just bought my first NEW computer (and that was just a mini no frillz netbook… always took peoples hand me downs before). my first computer in 9th grade was new tho, but that was a christmas gift (i think it was on layaway for like ever or bought on a store card.. all i know is that my grandparents were still paying it off well after the thing was long fried and gone).

“I really freak when someone says ‘living on a fixed income’.”
Why do you freak? Maybe they had a low salary and don’t get the very much, denton.
Pete, as a recent retiree, shouldn’t you be just a wee bit more jovial and relaxed?
