i like the soho area because the doctors and dentists and stuff are of a higher caliber than most other neighborhoods. i love brooklyn but i wouldnt be caught dead going to a doctor or dentist in that borough.
Where I am now (nearish to Citicorp Center) is not bad at all. Good subway access, a close walk to true midtown, but nowhere near as crowded as true midtown.

I take manhattan anywhere over office campus in central NJ

I complain about soho but i actually like working down here. i’m fine as long as i avoid broadway and prince street.
plus it seems like every single kid who is cutting school on any given day is down here.

my least favorite nabe to work was the financial district. very dark and depressing.
