Gem, Congratulations!!!!!!!! That is wonderful!!!
Benson, I will go see Mom,Dad, Sister, Brother-in-law and a very large group of neices, nephews, grandneices, nephews. etc. etc. in Florida over Thanksgiving so I can’t do the Spumoni Gardens outing (drat!) but hope I can get a raincheck…
I remember JFK’s death like it was yesterday too. It seem like I am older than a lot of you, though I was still in grammar school – it was stunning, we were doing something and the nun stopped the class and told us. We went home and everyone was sort of spaced out and sad. I also remember election night in 1960 when Kennedy won. I was standing out on the porch looking up at the stars and thought that all is right with the world, I guess reflecting the happiness of all the adults in my life. An Irish Catholic in the White House!!!
OMG speaking of names and babies
So – I also belong to a baby website where they have a message board for the month you are due etc
OMG most of America is crazy, these women really represent all colors, religions and socioeconomic status. I have had a few dooxy of discussions over there about abortion and circumcision etc, but my favorite posts are from these broads who post “Please vote on my baby name” -here are some of the doozies I have seen:
My Mom used to set up her ironing board in front of the tv and iron, when I was small, and I remember coming home from school one November, and she was there just crying while she was ironing. It was JFK’s funeral. I distinctly remember watching the Kennedy kids at the funeral, as they were the only people I could relate to. I was in second grade.
Rob, are you going to spend all day being jealous of what other people have?
CGar – I’ve been going to Make a Frame – I like their work though it’s not cheap (but I guess no custom framing is). I’m waiting on two pieces I took in last week that should look great!
Gem – tell us, tell us!! Don’t worry about Old Man Pete!
CG – Isn’t that place on Atlantic any good? There’s a decent place on 7th just off Flatbush that does good work but they’re pricey. Haven’t tried Prints Charming but someone said she likes them.

In college, I skiied Sugarloaf in Maine…..coldest skiing I’ve ever done. -55 degrees with wind chill. I’ll never forget it.
Congratulations, Gem! That’s great news!

I’ve done some hiking in Maine. One of the most awesome hikes we ever did was along something called the Gulf Hagas, aka ‘Grand Canyon of the East’.
Also climbed Mt Katadin when Mrs. D was 6 months pregnant.
Baxter State Park is awesome and incredible wilderness. Definitely not idyllic. As is Mooshead Lake.
After seeing those places, Acadia seems like the suburbs… lol.

Why the sudden focus on criminal records, Rob (mentioned in two posts so far today)?
Something happen over the weekend?!
