  1. I like J.G. Ballard. Think dad was taken aback by the fantasy sequences at the end. He got his car back as a small crushed cube of metal.

    A good contemporary writer to Ballard was John Espey.

  2. Hi 1910- wow, your dad must have some serious tales to tell. The movie was based on a semi-autobiographical book by J.G. Ballard, the sci-fi writer. My uncle was in the Middle for the war, and I don’t know where my other uncles or cousins were stationed then.
