This is for my crown heights pad that I’ll rent out so dont want to spend premo $$$. reason I’m eying side-side fridge is the spot for fridge is very close opposite counter where a full size fridge door wont open completely (bangs into counter top) and want to avoid ice maker cause I dont want to deal with the swapping out of water filter and the occasional leaks with the water feed. was initially going to blow various walls to do some big layout changes in there to accommodate fridge, washer, dryer, etc but now just going to make-do what what works with the current layout.

Agree with Gem and dave. It is like a Spring day outside. And it is like an oven in the office – I need A/C!!

denton, I’ve had ice makers now going on 17 years. Yes, I know a Leica is probably still the best camera in the world but some technology does get better as the years go by.

Just don’t install a plastic tube for the water feed if you have mice!!!!!!

m4l, we did a Liebherr counter depth in our reno. Much cheaper than Subzero but made in Germany by well paid union craftsman. We’ve had it running for a couple years w no problems. It’s a bottom freezer rig, more efficient than side by side.

I don’t like the ice maker, too much potential for plumbing problems. Keep it simple.
