I used to work at the commodity exchange downtown which set up the most amazing airport security type daily screening. When I started there, I used to flirt with the Head of Security. I made a joke about getting checked again and again day in and day out….”Do I have to put the Luger in the screener or should I take it out.” This guy had become a friend but warned me very seriously to NEVER joke about that, even to him. If we forgot our badges, we had to go through 3 separate steps — outside screening machine, ID check then at front desk, then the internal airport machine. We had international government types visiting and they were pissed. Hey, tough shit, 100 yards away we had a terrorist attack. Get over it.

Slopey – When we arrived at Heathrow there was a group of people lurking before customs & Brando thought it was the press waiting for him. He handed me his dopp kit to hold while he strolled over. Turned out it was Scotland Yard waiting for me! A girl I’d sublet my flat to had forged a bunch of my checks that were bouncing all over town.
