  1. MM – I totally agree with you. Our society is obsessed with being thin. I’ll admit I am too. You know it’s a complex issue to me b/c as a teen I was very overweight (am talking 230 pounds and 5’8) and I lost 80 + pounds and kept it off for 15 years purely from re-educating myself on what food I need to eat and working out. I never ever want to be heavy again – I remember the pain of being made fun of and not feeling “normal”. I understand that struggle you go through and it does suck that society frowns upon heavier people, especially women.

I also think being healthy is more important than being skinny. I mean I weigh 30 -40 pounds more than my skinny friends and I can out-run them and pick up heavy items and never grow tired b/c I am in shape and I look just as good, especially growing older. My Grandma always said better to have fat in the face, you will age better

  2. I quit watching TV. Just Morning Joe. And I read the following books over the last three weeks: The Yankee Years by Torre, Lit by Mary Karr, Obama’s Wars by Bob Woodward, The big short by Michael Lewis. Started too big to Fail but it appears to suck.
