I believe that the actual albums and the music in them are
owned by APPLE records which is still owned and controlled by the estates of John (Yoko) and George and the still living Paul and Ringo.
I think the Michael Jackson estate/Sony owns the publishing rights to the catalog.
There is a difference but I’m not sure how it plays out,
maybe our legal brownstoners know?
Legion -am realllllly surprised that “Here Comes The Sun” is the #1 Beatles download.
Am still trying to figure out though if if was EMI that let struck the deal with Apple or the Estate of Michael Jackson (or Sony Music) who own like 90% of the Beatles publishing….
