“Aks” or “Axe” is atop my list of mispronunciations that drive me crazy.
Right up there with nucular.
Oooh, and my favorite…”irregardless”!
I used to tell my students that there was no such thing as being “up in the club.” You can be up in an airplane, a hot air balloon, etc. but unless that club was in some such thing, you were not ‘up in’ it!
i also laugh when people get all irate with me and scream I AXED YOU A QUESION!
