Thank you, Fulton Street BID for the BEST CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ever, hanging over Fulton street. They are beautiful. White, strung lights, drapes and bows, in just white lights all down Fulton.
College was all about Jack Daniels, Absolut, Yaeger, Mad Dog 20/20 (the blue one), and whatever cheap beer we could get our hands on. We made fun of Zima. Tasted like flat Sprite.
This weekend was an A for me. I laid in bed most of the day Saturday, doing the Victorian bed cure after a hellish week (Friday I was in furious Xena mode about something that happened with client and lectured our Japanese CEO about respect, probably a career limiting move…..but who knows, sometimes these guys like getting bossed around) so I read two books — finished “Obama’s War” and “The Big Short”.
Obama’s War was fascinating. It was like being in a multi-month meeting with the Military, the Intelligency community, Biden, Obama, Emmanuel, Hillary and the the Department of Defense — trying to figure out a strategy for Afganistan/Pakistan. It was painful to read in a way but one got a sense of how decisions are made or seem to get made on their own.
The Big Short was FABULOUS. I read it in one shot. GREAT GREAT GREAT book on the roots of the financial shitstorm started by the sub prime mortgage mess. By Michael Lewis. This is FAR BETTER than Too Big to Fail which I started but has no depth.
CGar
Cobby! Hola! Should we put up a “Save the Date” forum post for the party and list the location as TBD?
Apropos of nothing……

Do Blue Nun and Baby Duck still exist?
“So, is Cobble’s BH Leonard Lopate?”
Uhm, no. We’re both quite a bit younger than them, by roughly 20 years.
Oh, and we don’t have a dog. And I’m not an artist.
Basically, the only thing we have in common is that we live in CH. Wait, but I do make the bed. : P
I never did White Z in college…we did Lambrusco
