  1. “In other words, they are run by separate bureauacracies, so…let’s keep it that way!! Bureauacracy for bureauacracy’s sake!! Woo-hoo!Yeah, it makes alot of sense for the USDA to be running an anti-poverty program.”

    You clearly can’t read. Those agencies give sate government block grants, who then deal with the direct administration of those programs. The feds do not get involved with these programs outside of transfering the money to state governments.

  2. so i have a two huge burn marks right now, that still hurt! one is my left forearm and the other is on my right upper arm. why you ask? getting out of the shower friday i reached for my towel and leaned against the heating pipe in the bathroom. OUCH! i cant believe it was hot enough to give me what i think is a degreed burn (is first or third for minor ones?). and then saturday my ass winds up burn my other arm. i cant believe how hot bathroom pipes can get! such a safety hazard having right when you get out of the bathtub too!!

    *rob*

    “Finally, I agree with BrooklynCouch: the biggest entitlements that need to be cut are those for the middle class.”

    What sort of gov’t programs are set up for the middle class? and why should they be cut?

  4. Kens;

    Believe it or not, I’ve never been to John’s Deli, even though it’s in my old stomping grounds. For sandwiches, my “go to” places are Monte’s (Ave. O betwen West 4th and 5th) and Pisa Salumeria (corner of West 6th and King’s Highway).

    How good is Monte’s? Consider this fact. At noontime, all of the police precincts and firehouses within a few miles send a delegation there to pick up their sandwich order.

    Need I say more?

  5. Some people spell it Devali, some people spell it Diwali, but all those Indian folks pronounce it with a “V”. Whatever. It is a time when Indians buy gold for presents and they are buying more than usual. M4L, I am not putting a target on it; we are in uncharted territory.
