GOP also said this a.m. that their first task was getting rid of health care bill.
My bf of 35 years is Chinese – we’re #5.
Before Roe vs. Wade I had 1 friend who died of a coat hanger abortion & 3 friends who were scarred to the extent that they couldn’t have children. Harping on our rights in the abstract is all well & good but the real issue is the harm that would happen if the decision were reversed. Women *will* try to terminate pregnancies regardless of the legality (or safety) of the procedure.
Legion- I must admit to a certain fondness for Hispanic men. Since I have , um….experience with several races, I can say my fondness is based on experience. 🙂

it’s always the ones who escaped the trailer park. and it’s always the ones who in general, are just nice to people. in my experience, at least here on the East Coast, white women are a bit mean.
“Whether or not you like Palin’s policies and values, her utter contempt for the truth, knowledge, those who speak against her and the English language make her a scary demagogue.”
********
Exactly!
Re Palin: threatened just isn’t the right word, Lech. I’d say disdainful … and embarrassed! Women are finally there on the national political stage, after a couple of generations of education and hard work and hard-fought rights, and THIS is the best we can do? An airheaded demagogue who relies on pencil skirts and winks to pander to her constituency’s basest fears and ignorance, all for her own financial and political gain? Say what you will about, say, Hillary Clinton on the left, or someone like Condoleeza Rice on the right, but at least these are smart, hard-working women of substance. But it’s Sarah Palin who is closest to becoming the first female President!
rob- then talk about your particular experiences with particular women instead of making blanket statements. Especially if you don’t want to be stereotyped yourself. As it is I suspect you’ve had annoying experiences with a wide range of people- maybe it’s you, not them?
“I wonder if white women can be bred to be good in ” Well, ditto- if you can, anyone can.
Peacocks were used to alarm guard palaces in Asia. They squawk at the slightest movement. Do they squawk or something else.
