Imagine life before language. When you die 100% of the learning in your head would die too, unless it was some kind of physical practice that could be imitated by someone else, like making pottery.
You could dream up calculus, figure out that the earth rotates around the sun, figure out how to be a good leader… and all that knowledge would die with you.
These days, not enough knowledge dies with people. Just think if the meaningless, pointless information we’re getting from our ancestors and transmitting to our heirs.
If you’re not a genius who changed the world you should get an allotment of information that you can leave when you die. Your name, some basic details about your life, maybe 100 photographs. And a few thoughts if you’re smart.
