Biff, unless Cliff cant make it pass the 1st two innings, dude will get his massive $$$. Yanks rotation is crap and they have $$$ to spend. helps a ton that there’s not much prime A talent to consider beside him. he’ll get his 23-25M/yr for 5 (or maybe even 6) yrs
bxgrl – The only real power in that game is the ability to walk away. The richer guy can walk away before the poorer one.
Let’s say you need $10 to buy dinner for your family or they will starve. You’re playing against someone who would like, but does not need, any part of the $100. Single game, no repeats. You can not credibly threaten to walk. He can. You lose.
Another asymmetry is that the rich guy probably plays repeat games while the poor guy doesn’t. So rich guy can lose a few but win overall. Poor guy has to win that one game.
