  1. benson- I think we did 😉 And we are continuing our proud tradition (*wipes away a tear*)

Lech- I have to agree. But i will say that I seem to have a remarkable ability to cut off my nose to spite my face. On one occasion I did walk away because I simply couldn’t stomach the solution. It came down to a battle of my pocketbook vs my ulcers (or more likely, my pride).

  2. Slopey – Here’s for lech’s infallibility:
Vague and insignificant forms of speech, and abuse of language have so long passed for mysteries of science; and hard and misapplied words, with little or no meaning, have, by prescription, such a right to be mistaken for deep learning and height of speculation, that it will not be easy to persuade either those who speak or those who hear them, that they are but the covers of ignorance, and hindrance of true knowledge. -John Locke, philosopher (1632-1704)

  3. I agree CGar, its easier to say “Jackal, you’re a dumbass dickwad airhead” than it is to say “11.32 etc.

Or “Jackal you whoreson dickhead” is easier to say then something else

And just to clarify re: my 4:06 response to bxgrl — there is no qualitative judgment there. That’s all just observation of the natural world.

As I said to rf, making these kinds of observations could actually be considered somewhat leftist.

Biff, I would reply to your post, but last time I did that the Yankees lost. Of course, it didn’t help that DONATELLA was making plans to go to the ticker tape parade!!!!!!!!

Go ahead, pour in the salt, to use your metaphor. Since I had so much disposable time with the Yankee loss, I used it to read the 500 page Joe Torre book. The Yankee Years. The loser years take up the last third of the book and it is almost too much to read. All the loser players, fights, pitchers, masochists, steroid users, broken down pitchers, Steinbrenner going gaga…
