Ditto: “did you put your life in danger in the armed forces?”
No more than I do now, and much less than when I was logging. I was never in combat. Much more dangerous to be a bicycle messenger than to be in the armed forced during peacetime.
“I thought you might have been on mess duty peeling spuds.”
Nope. At general quarters I hunched over a big computer display and tracked things. Otherwise I did what everyone else in the Navy does: stand duty, eat, sleep, make your bed, stand duty, eat, sleep… oh shit we have liberty – yay go to Tijuana and drink till the guardia civil takes notice…. get back across the border… stand duty, eat, sleep, make your bed, stand duty, eat, sleep…
Does mole give one gas? If so, the people beside me at the show tonight may be none too thrilled.
I’m going to see Rain at the Neil Simon Theater, if anyone wants to plan an assassination of the PLUSA prez. That reminds me of a fun fact – the two most famous people to get shot at in a theater:
Abe Lincoln and the guy sitting in front of Pee Wee Herman.
textperV, the attached one. bias heading into weekend is more toward rejecting the counter. will proceed if they take my low-ball offer. if not, no sweat and onto the next one.
DCB, you can definitely work pro-actively with landmarks – if you go to them before a violation is reported they will work with you in correcting it, even going so far as to including you in low-interest loan programs, etc., if you qualify. As I said, there are no violations on record at the DOB or Landmarks for the moment, so now’s a good time.
yes dibs, thereb was a guy named Mud or Mudd, and….. aw fuck, it had to do with the Abe Lincoln assassination. And the guy who started the FBI.
Oh I remember, wasn’t he falsely accused of something? Mudd, I mean? They falsely accused him of being behind the assassination?
I think I saw that on that stupid Nicholas Cage movie about American history when I was on a flight somewhere with my wife.

Speaking of Abe Lincoln and the theatre, do any of you know where the phrase “Your name is mud.” came from????
Prez, your game is off a little. you need to be here more often so you can rehab your game to top form. Work is not that important
