  1. Slopey…I had a female boss once who went on a screaming tirade and started throwing things on the desk. Then she sat down and told us all we had no idea what a period was like.

  2. “the world is lucky i wasnt given a womb”

I’m adding this to my list of things to thank g*d for every night when I go to sleep.

You really are a misogynist, Rob. You need help.

  3. It was fun, cobble! Great meeting you, BH, montrose, biff, dibs, wasder, Bob Marvin and many others PLUSAs and semi-PLUSAs. Rob kept hugging just about everyone. Fun shooting the breeze with Master Plvmber and SmokeyChimp about Joe the (unlicensed) Plumber. Evening ended with a nice fireside chat with biff and bayridgegirl (gee, whatever happened to her???).

    Now look.

  4. Actually, Cox did discourage enforcement, Lech.

I first started to understand this when the Madoff case came up. The SEC went after minor cases and ignored the important ones. They also were extremely lenient on fines.

Before you yell at me for being a conspiracy nut case, do a little research. It is pretty shocking.

Of course, there budget was slashed also, so that was a good excuse.

    (Ducking for cover)

  5. Christie is putting out bids to privatize the NJ hoghway toll booth collection jobs.

The amount of waste and inefficiency that the union had created was truly egregious.

    This is only the beginning.

  6. 1. Rob, you have woman issues. You have no idea what you are talking about, since you’ve never had a period, never given birth, or been a woman in the workplace. And no, you can’t get that information on the internet.

    2. The majority of people in the third world know what a toilet is. Even those that don’t get the concept pretty quickly, as any culture without a custom or regimine of sanitation is an extinct culture.

    3. Teachers who teach in summer school get paid during the summer. Many teachers, who like everyone else, need money because they are underpaid for the work they do, are more than happy to work over the summer to make extra money. Those that don’t shouldn’t be made to feel like they are some kind of lazy form of life. Teaching is hard, tiring work. And that isn’t even the teaching part.

    4. Benson, everytime the subject of teachers comes up we are treated to your story of the guy who was “forced” to join the Dem party, like that’s policy. First of all, what they tried to do is illegal, and no political party needs jerks like that on the roster. He should have reported them to several different authorities. Secondly, it’s a story of one person, not the entire system. There are a lot of things that suck about the teacher’s union, but no one story from any side of an issue tell the complete story.

    5. Legion, going to college, as you well know, is more than just learning skills for a specific job. You (hopefully) learn how to think, how to function in situations and with people outside of one’s own experience and comfort level. College gives a motivated student a chance to experience new things, indulge intellectual and social curiosities, explore topics and studies you may not have a chance to do otherwise, and make friends and connections that can last a lifetime from across a varied student and professional body. Any college can do that. Going to trade school is great, too. Not everyone can or wants to go to college, and true, a lot of times the trade school grads go directly out of school on to real jobs, while college grads meander sometimes. But to say that minorities like Latinos should scrap college for trade school is go back to pigeonholing groups into a 1950’s kind of pseudo perfect world, where everyone knew their place and stuck to it. Makes me mad, and gives me the creeps.

    Going back to work now.
