DH, I have the same crappy heaters you do. And I actually turned the one in the LR on for 1/2 hour on Saturday. Granted, CDog made me leave the garden door open for her, so that’s why I got cold.
has anyone had to turn on the heat yet? trying to figure out at what point my place is gonna start getting super chilly – since i have those crappy hotel style electric powered window heating units which i’m hoping won’t jack my electric bill up too high.

g10, please enlighten DH how big of a sucker punch he can expect for turning on that electric heater.
I turned the furnace on about a week ago just to make sure it worked OK. Left it on and it did kick in one morning last week.
You certainly won’t need it this week.
Ringo, me too, but I think they’re going to be priced beyond what I’m willing to pay. Did I read $1,500 or $1,600 / square foot?
