lech – Annual meetings, new product announcements & other big shows for sales forces or stockholders or publicity people or analysts. Massive staging w/ audio & visual electronics, lighting & often live actors/dancers. Audiences of anywhere from a dozen to 6 or 8 thousand (big pharma or autos usually.)
How about your favorite nationalities to fly with?”
I don’t have a favorite, but I can tell you that Russians are by far the WORST WORST WORST WORST WORST people in the world to fly with.
One of the worst flights I ever took was a Finnair from Helsinki to JFK. Tons of Russians b/c Helsinki is near St Petersburg. Well they literally had an open bar in the back of the airplane, they just left out the drinks cart and you could serve yourself. So all the Russians hung out in the back of the airplane getting shit faced and making TONS of noise. This one woman drank so much she shit her pants. She passed out and no one could wake her up, so they put her in her seat and then when we got to JFK she had shit her pants. I think she might have been on pills too because she was acting kind of weird even before she started drinking.
I just read a description of it cobble and was asking the question genuinely. Think there has to be a limit on the total cost of unemployment benefit, but was curious about where and how best to draw the line.
Let me describe the device I am currently focused on:
-The lasers and receivers are made in Japan;
-The ASIC’s are made mostly in the USA;
-The fiber optic cable is made in the USA;
-it is assembled in Thailand;
-Once assembled, it will be shipped to Japan for testing;
-After testing, it will be shipped to another factory in SE Asia, for assembly into a sub-system that is engineered in Israel, Oslo or San Jose, California. Most of the parts of that system are made in China.
-After the system is assemmbled, it will be shipped to the USA, where it will be incorporated into a super-computer that is assembled here.
Question: how would you propose that we pass a law altering this supply chain?
Thanks Arkady. I understand now.
“that all those people, who played by the rules and got f*cked, paid into—shouldn’t be extended. ”
Technically, cobble, unemployment is paid by employers, not employees…

CH – am blonde – so do tell 🙂
“Nationalities to avoid drinking with: …. Jewish”
Are Jessi, CGar, Kens, Slopey, Noki and I (and Cobble, honourarily) that embarrassing to be around when we drink?
CGar, there are exceptions to every racist stereotype.
I dated a Chinese guy back in 1998 who knew exactly which songs to play on the jukebox in an Irish bar to get them all crying!!!!!

“what about putting a ban on outsourcing?”
