  1. “we’ve been hearing some talk” — that’s an awfully broad and vague brush you are using to suggest support for the view that the US somehow needs Venezuela’s approval.

  2. ishtar and rf,

    The Harlem Children’s zone is
    getting results better than
    contol groups at public schools
    and even better than statewide
    averages.

    -get parents involved
    -get rid of non-productive teachers
-hold the kids up to high standards of
    schooling.

personally, I think parental involvement is half
    the battle.
The separate issue with the Education system is the
cost. We need results with less cost.

  3. It seems acceptable for the US to tell people in the developing world to stop having kids if they can’t afford them – why can’t we say the thing at home?

  4. donatella,

I throw them together because the Feminists in NOW are usually the ones at odds with conservative women and I like to ruffle their feathers by pointing that out.

Most recently in the California Governor’s race we
had Whitman being called a whore and NOW’s reaction was
    to endorse Brown.

  5. rf,
“Chevez is demonized by the US because he tried to spread the wealth of the large oil companies to the people”

Biff at 1036 yest, in the US foreign policy discussion. Don’t know how to post the link but you can check.

  6. money would be better ivested in sending kids’ parents to charm schools! the kids will be fine and learn as long as their parents are taught how to be charming.
