I agree, there are many public schools doing a great job.
I’d say the best of schools in NYC are public.
I’m getting at the solutions to the chronically underperforming schools. Obviously the formula has
to be changed and the Teacher’s Unions should not
become obstacles to the solution by standing by poorly performing teachers.
The Children’s Zone gets a huge amount of outside money. They give lots and lots of support to their families outside of school and to their students inside school and that’s how they get the results they do.

Legion, the middle school in HCZ isn’t doing that great. The primary school is, though. I have personal relationships with people who work there.
