  1. Donatella, I anticipated you would be hammer with the hail storm so I took liberty to forewarn my wife that house living comes with these issues. but she bluntly said, well it would be “YOU” dealing with the issues while I’m in bed with the kid watching TV.

French Workers Strike Against Sarkozy Pension Plan

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) — French workers are demonstrating today for the fourth time in five weeks in nationwide marches, disrupting rail and air traffic as labor unions threaten open- ended strikes to press President Nicolas Sarkozy to scrap his pension-system overhaul.
Railway and Paris subway workers and as well as teachers, air-traffic controllers and port and refinery employees walked out to protest plans to raise the retirement age to 62 from 60 and lift the age for a full pension to 67 from 65. Unions, which warn they may renew the strike every 24 hours unless the government backs down, said 244 marches will take place across France today in cities including Toulouse, Marseille and Nantes.

  3. My guys were spooked by noise of what I thought was hard-driving rain on n.w.-facing windows. When I looked to see I discovered the hail – street, cars, windowsill, all covered.

  4. I find the French “take to the streets” approach to expressing every form of political idea odd. As though they were protesting to an imaginary king.

  5. “visitor kitty”

you mean a dirty alley cat who probably wakes people up in the middle of the night when they are moaning to get laid? they are annoying.
