Yeah, I’ve been applying all along to LI firms, and I suspect they give preference to LI applicants. I’ve applied to several NPs, and no luck with those either.
Yeah I think that’s basically right DCB. That doesn’t mean it was illegal though, just that they couldn’t have kept it all as is if Gramm-Leach-Bliley weren’t enacted.
by dona- They torque themselves up out of rage, jealousy, paranoia, and can get out of control.
CGar- Some of these sanity-challenged types are living on the very edge. In a twisted kind of way they may try to put others into a “no-win situation”. Not sure how it’s done but it is hard to nail down (bc it’s crazy). Suggestions of making allies at HR are good ones. She may get carried off some day, but maybe not soon enough for you. You may ask her, “which do you want me to do first, this, or that?” Another way to try may be to agree that she is the best (google narcissism). That would gag you and you may not want to do it but it could bide you time.
Snaps -sorry if this is annoying – but have you looked into legal positions with non-forprofits or looking for a job in Long Island – Mineola has so many firms
sorry just a thought – but am sure you have done this already….
Snappy, I listened to lawyer friends who were struggling to position themselves properly and a couple of really talented people who struggled as you are, but who are now doing quite well. It is a matter of positioning yourself optimally, given the current market, yeah, easier said than done, but it can’t hurt to compare notes!!!!

“I’m talking about red tape that affects small businesses, the primary job creators.”
