Can I also complain about landlord nutjobs? Take mine for instance-Complains when my cats run across the room. (OK- the vases and tsotchkes crashing to the floor were a bit loud). Refuses to buy me a subzero fridge. Won’t let me build a roof deck outside my bedroom window. Ate my goldfish- claimed she mistook Melvin for sushi.Look how I suffer!

oh and Bxgrl, thanks for the offer of a CPA recommendation but I am going to go with a guy who was recommended by a financial guy I work with.

CGar, I have never worked for a company that even had an HR dept. Take that back, my last job’s parent company did,(dept had one person) but it got phased out a year after I got hired, and all she did was schedule vacations and manage benefits. So I’m really not up on HR’s powers.

That said, seems to me this person has made up her mind about you, and it’s not going to change. I think you’ve gotten some good advice about documenting things while continuing to do a fine job for the company.

Although I’ve always worked for very small companies, I’ve always worked directly with the owners, and most of them have been nutjobs who never owned up to what they said they wanted you to do. I got in the habit of keeping all emails pertaining to instructions, and whenever possible, emailed then laying out whatever they said in person, and sending it to them, so I could put in in front of them later when I got the inevitable “I never said to do that”. As much as I miss a regular paycheck and health insurance, I don’t miss that aspect of working for other people at all.

CGar- me buying you a house won’t make you feel better. It would make me feel better because I would feel that I supported and comforted you in your time of need. But you are the victim here- you’re the one who needs to do something all feel-goody and I am only thinking of you and your needs when I offered to let you buy me another house. That’s what a great wife I am. xoxoxo
