CGar: And I love *rob*, and he knows that, and he knows he can call me anytime and that he can depend on me. But that doesn’t mean I can’t call him on his BS or that he can’t tell me to lighten up or man up. And that doesn’t mean he and I can’t fight occasionally. Like any real friendship, though NOT like an Internet chat room “friendship”.
Get the Magnolia cupcakes for the witches boss. Not for everybody and certainly not for the witch herself.
Then report back on the Big Boss’s reaction. That will tell us how to proceed.
Please follow these instructions to the letter. You are on dangerous grounds.
The witch provides a vital function for El Heffe. She becomes the focus of disdain for the Plebians and therefore distracts everyone from the failings of Mr. Big and the company in general.
And for God’s sake, get only Magnolia Bakery cupcakes. If you substitute a lessor cupcake or a bagel I will not be responsible for the consequences.
Legion, your death by a thousand cuts on the failings of the economy is getting so tired. I have yet to hear anything from you that would work.
MM,
My dear,
Simply stating something in writing does not make it true.
You know I’ve gone through the lengthy littany of economic fixes needed to right this economy.
don’t make me list them ad nauseum.
“lechacal, it’s more than just “an Internet chat room”, and you know that as well as anyone here. Friendships here moved far beyond the chat room stage long ago, and we’re no longer merely responding to anonymous posts by people we don’t know.”
CGar, don’t waste your breath. Lech isn’t someone who understands human interaction and dynamics, or I dare say even friendship.
2. Bush left office with a 400 billion deficit and a credit/liquidity crisis.
Two years later the deficit is 1.4 trillion and we’re facing a sovereign debt crisis. Those trillion plus deficits are projected out several years more.
Dear lech,
Please realize the Bush numbers were a big fat lie. The government is a firm believer in desk drawer accounting.

1)Yeah, but those people are able to put food on their family’s table. They also shop in supermarkets, keeping those open and employing. What’s the alternative? Food banks and soup kitchens? No one ever said food stamps were jobs.
2)The economy is fluid, and once started going downhill, can’t be fixed in 2 years. 2 inherited wars, and a recession/depression well underway the day Obama was sworn in can’t be fixed overnight.
3)See #2.
4)So instead of a stimulus package, which saved millions of jobs for teachers, police, fire, and others, as well as created some public works jobs, we should have stayed status quo? As for any money paid out to the dead, that’s like concentrating on a couple of cheats to justify getting rid of any gov’t program one doesn’t like. Yes, find and close the loopholes and stop the cheating. But don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
5)So – what do you have? Where are the Republican solutions? The only thing I’ve seen is “keep the Bush tax cuts.”
“1. 41.8 million Americans on Food Stamps is not a viable
economic policy, no matter what Nancy Pelosi says.”
legion, That statement sickens me. Where the hell is your humanity? This, from a doctor. Cripes.
And so? What? Perhaps we should let them starve in the streets? What precisely are you proposing is the answer?

Same here.
OK. Back from an “urgent” meeting and lunch.
CGar, I see you have not understood the plan.
