  1. Was just out again and almost got hit by car. Do people not know how to stop at a stop sign!
Was crossing the street and car screeches to a stop inches away from me. I stopped and just stood in front of his car staring him down. Rolls down his window and asks if I’m going to move. I asked him if he’s gonna learn to fucking stop at stop signs.

    okay, that was scary.
My baby is going to have a potty mouth.

“1. 41.8 million Americans on Food Stamps is not a viable
economic policy, no matter what Nancy Pelosi says.”

legion, That statement sickens me. Where the hell is your humanity? This, from a doctor. Cripes.

And so? What? Perhaps we should let them starve in the streets? What precisely are you proposing is the answer

    NOTE TO SELF:

When you are at a loss for reason and accountability,
resorting to the moral attack is a sure fire way to
    sway the crowd.
    CHECK

    cobble,
where did I advocate for starvation as a solution?

  3. Solutions are based on the time tested measures of allowing the free markets to solve the problems of the economy. These include caps on spending linked to inflation. Caps on taxation linked to population growth or other economic need indicators. Proper oversight of the money collected by goverment. A realization that government is just another name for a bunch of people who when organized in large enough numbers will more than likely screw up. A new understanding of personal accountability. etc. etc.”

These are not easily understood by the mind of anyone used to entitlements all their life.

  4. “awarding the peace prize to President Obama for example before he achieved any significant international accord or even victory was nothing but a cynical and manipulative ploy. One which Americans are mindful and angered by.”

I wasn’t angry, but then I don’t see manipulation in giving the prize to a man who inspired the world by running for the highest office in the free world, and getting it. He ran on a platform of hope and optimism, and inspired the children of the disadvantaged, the left out, the children of immigrants, and the children of the African Diaspora, that nothing is too high a dream to work for, and then achieve. Call me cynical, but that’s prizeworthy enough for me. I think the committee was happy to give the award to an American who embodies what America is supposed to stand for. If you don’t think he “did” enough to “deserve” the award, well, I can’t help you there.

CGar, don’t waste your breath. Lech isn’t someone who understands human interaction and dynamics, or I dare say even friendship.”

Oh I understand human interaction and dynamics at the macro level extremely well, cobble. I don’t care to understand one-on-one interactions, like how to play nice and avoid hurting your feelings, if that’s what you’re getting at.

  6. 1)Yeah, but those people are able to put food on their family’s table. They also shop in supermarkets, keeping those open and employing. What’s the alternative? Food banks and soup kitchens? No one ever said food stamps were jobs.

The best solution to poverty is a job.

2)The economy is fluid, and once started going downhill, can’t be fixed in 2 years. 2 inherited wars, and a recession/depression well underway the day Obama was sworn in can’t be fixed overnight.

True, but the economic indicators do not lie. You may start a journey to walk around the world, but if you keep passing by your house after 2 years, you probably haven’t gone too far.

    3)See #2.

    See above.

4)So instead of a stimulus package, which saved millions of jobs for teachers, police, fire, and others, as well as created some public works jobs, we should have stayed status quo? As for any money paid out to the dead, that’s like concentrating on a couple of cheats to justify getting rid of any gov’t program one doesn’t like. Yes, find and close the loopholes and stop the cheating. But don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

The waste from the stimulus is enormous. Even the dedicated Stimulus Web site can’t account for something like 162 million of the dollars spent. You could buy a hospital for that amount.

5)So – what do you have? Where are the Republican solutions? The only thing I’ve seen is “keep the Bush tax cuts.”

A new understanding of personal accountability. etc. etc.

  7. “CGar, I see you have not understood the plan.”

DCB, LMAO to your post. Got the plan now. Understand. Will follow to the letter and report back. And the big boss LOVES cupcakes, ‘specially red velvet!!

  8. “Get the Magnolia cupcakes for the witches boss. Not for everybody and certainly not for the witch herself.”

DCB, I’m so interested in why you think this is a good strategy? I would think that Mr. Big would see it as blatant sucking up, and might be annoyed, no? Or do you think it would be taken as a nice thing and endear CGar to him?

Or maybe you are Mr. Big and you’ve been craving cupcakes?! LOL!

Your name came up at lunch as well and, if I remember correctly, lechacal had kind words to say.

We’ve dropped you back to the bottom of the list for an invitation to the men’s lunch club.
