Here is my 88th Precinct story for the day.
(before I really go to work)
Got home last night around 7:30 pm from seeing some friends and noticed a duffle bag with lots of mens clothes, toiletries on my stoop looking like it had been rifled through. Called tenants (boyfriends forgot one bag on the stoop???) but nobody home, no lights on.
OK. Strange. Then I think I better call 311. Because it was a LOT of stuff, nice clothes, etc.
311 directed me to the 88th Precinct. (Just as I was calling them, a couple of guys we watching me with curiosity as I was looking through the bag for ID something). I told the cops the bag might have been part of a “robbery” “burglary”, i.e. people looking for stuff, money, electronics in the bag and leaving the clothes. So the cops say they will come over to “investigate”. Cops came and the same guys who were sort of looking at me, were there talking with the cops. It was father and teenager — their car, parked in front of my house, had been broken into and this was the boys bag. His laptop was missing as well as some other stuff.
The people were happy I called the police and that they got some stuff back but that was pretty wild — a car break in in the middle of the day.
Pete, DeLepp, actually not dark at all. It’s a corner unit, with 2 exposures in both bedrooms. Glass door with side windows in the LR lets a lot of light in. And no big buildings nearby — Brownstones to the east, carriage houses to the south. I swear, once I saw the balcony and the FDR, I was ready to make an offer but for the “no dogs allowed” rule.
cgar why dont you just buy a place already. your constant apartment and house searching is getting a tad long in the the tooth. the search for perfection is a shady rainbow.
cmu, at first I thought it had to be a joke posting. Sadly it’s wasn’t.
cgar, looks kinda dark.
kens, sweet mansion, but upgrade the kitchen already!
was at russo’s on the bay last night for a wedding, never seen so much food in my life. Extravagant in everyway. Lots of people paying bills from working last night.
looks nice, cgar. Have feeling it is bit dark (little natural light. And you’ll still be cleaning someone else’s lint out of the public dryer.
Is the new listing on Clinton St. a walk-up or an elevator bldg(near Degraw I think)?

“Enough closet space, CGar????”
Enough for me? Or just my clothes? LOL.
Actually there’s a fair amount of closet space — the walk-ins in and off the MBR are huge.
