I know these grades are mostly hated. But I for one am for accountability and I think the progress portion is important. I hope we are able to move toward merit pay at some point and it’s not fair to give PS321 teachers bonus money on getting kids to grade level when they arrived at school in September at grade level.
And I know these things are flawed and expensive. Still, I think it’s a good start.
The truth is I think most of us are able to get the best out of a flawed DOE. Not so with all parents. These scores help the poorest kids. Failing schools have been shut down based partly on these grades. I’m for that. I sincerely doubt Charter Roots is going that way but when PS8 got an F, I know a lot of shit got done. Not a bad thing.

And keeping the Fifty nine 50 stickers on looks fucking ridiculous….like mainland Chinese keeping labels on cuffs of jackets!!!!!!
Sunglasses are a big no-no for me. I don’t own a pair. I don’t like it when other people wear them. If someone speaks to me while wearing sunglasses I ask them to please take them off when speaking to me.
