  1. Oh, so you don’t send any of your kid(s?) to school where you’re zoned, and take them on the train to a better school? May not cost a lot of money but for sure it’s inconvenient. And for big shots like you, time is money.

Or is this affection for public education a recent development?

Sorry if I hurt your feelings (NOT!).

  2. “Who? Oh yeah, him. Is he still the President?”

Careful, benson, comments like that have a way of backfiring. As a Brooklyn oldtimer, you may remember this:

    jackal, benson,

I have not read about paladino’s disclosures, so I can’t comment on them. I agree, sort of, with jackal. My governing principle would be about hypocrisy, not my own morality. Politicians, indeed anyone in the public light, I could care less what they do in private, unless it is contrary to what they say in public. So, for example, I would care about a politician who tried to win votes by gay-bashing, but was on the down low. Private life becomes fair game in that instance.

Anyway, what did he say and, politics aside, what do you think about it, benson?

  3. oh, Benson, I can’t believe I am googling Carl Paladino’s love affair, but he was with this mistress for 10 years and had a kid and he told his wife about this last year at the time of the death of their son. No I don’t think that makes him a bad person. Supposedly, the daughter is accepted now as a member of the family. That’s the part I like. My non-political commentary.

  4. Benson, I agree with Lechecal on this politically, it’s none of my business, and his personal life should not be made into political fodder. I think people who say it matters only do so if it corresponds to their generally unfavorable opinion of him/her anyway.

As a woman looking at how a man treats his wife, he’s a dog, and M4L is right, he told everyone now so there are no surprises later. For the record, I thought Clinton was a dog too, in his personal life, and a lousy husband, but at the time, if he was running, I would have voted for him again. I want my politicians to be good politicians and leaders, I don’t expect them to be great moral standard bearers. I look to different people for that. It’s certainly great if they happen to be great moral people, but rarer than hensteeth these days.
