I once had an executive director about age 55. He flew non-stop from Tokyo to JFK. Upon landing, he went to visit a customer in NJ. After the visit, he took a bunch of us for dinner and drinks in Manhattan. His point of pride was that he would be the last man standing. At 2 AM in the morning, he won.
He was tough as nails, but wrt drinking and in all other ways.
dh…you apparently don’t know too many Japanese…most of them are NOT lightweights. As well as the Koreans which is essentially where japanese came from (but don’t tell tham that). The Chinese, yes.
“St. Patrick’s Day in Japan!!??!! That HAD to be a riot. The whole formal, inscrutable, rigid Japanese thing falls apart in bars. They are up there among the world’s most riotous drinkers.”
donatella, some day we have to be in Tokyop together and I’ll take you to a male “host bar.” I think the best one is called “J-League” for obvious reasons!!!!
