The first paragraph of the article you posted states that it’s from the “current census” but the end, after the maps states correctly that it’s from data from the 2000 census. I think the NYC map will change quite a bit in Brooklyn.
I agree with PS re: the Atlantic Antic. I walked with the family from Atlantic Center to the end of it at Hicks. It was far less interesting than I remembered it from last year. It’s pretty much a glorified street fair with a smattering of Brooklyn-specific booths. Maybe I was just jaded by the big crowd and trying to manoeuver The Champs through it. I found it somewhat interesting that people were standing in long lines for pizza and other food from restaurants and bakeries along Atlantic that are typically very quiet during all other times. I had to get one beer, nothing like walking in the street with a cold one in one’s hand, but that was only because I didn’t have to line up for it. All other beer lineups I saw were packed.
CGar- Consider donating to the Brooklyn Museum. Depending on what it is, the Museum of the City of New York is another nice choice. But donating to the Met is carrying coals to Newcastle.

DH, we can drink a lot of rice wine, rice + snake wine, rice + rat wine,… since that’s not worth bragging about, we specialize in gambling.
bxgrl, thanks. I was also thinking of the Brooklyn Museum, though the Museum of the City of New York had not occurred to me.
rf,
sorry I missed it,
I’m surprised Mr.B didn’t post the map of NYC.
donatella and dibs,
there’s a bronze statue of a dog in
Central Park; Balto
who treked across the Alaskan tundra
to deliver life saving meds.
I’m giving legiondog a hug when I get home.
even though he’ll just get up an leave the
room, like he always does when I bug him.
I used to work for a guy like that Benson. He was a little scary.
Pete – They’re not serving gourmet foods, they’re supplying nostalgia. Sort of like dining at the Harvard Club.
You can make that at home for less than $2 per serving, but I’m sure someone is spending $8 on that.
