  1. My Mom was a Catholic School teacher. They must have thought she was a nun with the salary they paid. It was barely a living wage. Now that’s a bunch of teachers that need a good union. She taught there because she didn’t want to teach in NYC public schools at her age. She had retired from public school upstate, when we moved back to NYC. She absolutely loved her kids and the school, but probably would have stopped if she had lived, as the salaries were so low, it was just impossible to justify continuing. This was in 1985.

  2. “My childhood impression was that the catholic school kids were monsters once they got out of school. (away from the nuns). Potty mouthed and troublemakers.”

Excuse me fuckface. Who the hell are you referring to????

  3. Ringo, PS, lol to your being done with the home renovation project. I loved my Brownstone in Carroll Gardens, but after what seemed like a 10-year continuous home renovation, it was a relief when I sold it. I miss my garden and the storage, and wouldn’t mind the same kind of space I had in my duplex, but don’t relish the thought of all that perpetual work again. I grew tired and weary of doing projects every waking moment.

  4. I know there are some very good/elite cahtholic high schools but just wondered what tuition was for the neighborhood parish schools that are closing all the time.

  5. Cgar: “the country house would need to be in Vermont since that’s where I’ve been looking for a vacay home (to be close to lechacal at all times, of course).”

Everyday at some point, something on the OT scares me.

    This scares me, CGAR.

  6. quote:

diversity of 40 ounces on a shelf, eclectic porn, and 4 distinct seasons.

I may change a few of the words, rob, but we’re not that far apart on agreeing.
