“one can clearly see he is not a religious person.”
I’m sorry, but this statement really bothers me. What are the “signs” of a religious person? Do you have to be out in public with your religion, like a devout Muslim cabdriver pulling over to the curb to kneel in the backseat, or on the sidewalk to pray? Do you have to walk around in Orthodox Jewish garb, so everyone knows you are a member of an extremely religious Jewish sect? Or are you supposed to be like some evangelical Christians who say “Praise the Lord”, or “Thank You, Jesus” fourteen times in just asking you how you are? Do you have to mention that “I prayed on it” whenever someone wonders how you made a decision? How in the world does one “see” that someone is a religious person?
How about that he goes about living his faith, being faithful and loving to his wife and family, tries to do good for his fellow man, tries to help make the world a better place, gives to the poor, comforts those in need, and all the good stuff “doing unto those” really means. Being truly “religious” is not the showy outward screaming about how holy and pious you are, it’s not the “look at ME” religiousness of far too many politicians, it’s not having a parade every time you go to church, temple, mosque or ashram, it’s someone’s personal relationship with their creator, and how that relationship teaches them to live on this earth and interact with people and the world itself.
“I don’t see how “one” can clearly see anything here”
Not sure on Obama’s record here but to look at Church attendance would be an objective measure. Church attendance would be a pretty good (although not complete) start in determining someone’s Christianity.
Agree that not everyone who attends Church is a Christian, but almost all (real, not nominal) Christians attend some kind of Church most weeks.
“BH, you dont think lots of those pricey houses in prime BK arent bought by rev generating bank employees?”
Tense check. WERE bought. They’ll now be filling the demand voids on the Upper East and West Sides. Ponzi mortgage finance levered up all hoods. Directly in the ghettos through subprime and indirectly on the UES through fee-skimming/gouging and Abacus-type shafts. Nowhere is immune. All will take a hit.
The jig is up. One more relatively solid bonus season. Last chance for airborne homeowners to cash out, or, aquamen and mermaids to short-sell to the surface.
“What have you done lately? Does your contempt for belief in God make you smarter than he was? Or does it just help you fit in at dinner parties?”
Oh I see, you’re (1) taking this personally, (2) classifying me holding religious beliefs in contempt. I’ll hunt down the Authors and pass on your well-considered criticism. I’m sure they received plenty of similar helpful comments.

Thus endeth the sermon.
“There is no dark conspiracy here, get off it.”
It’s a white conspiracy… lol.

Atheist = affirmative non-belief in god. God does not exist.
Agnostic = Who am I to say whether or not god exists?
rob, atheist convinced there is no supreme being, agnostic waiting for more evidence. There are many jokes on the theme…
