well if you read the last sentence when i was talking about the japanese i CLEARLY STATED I DID NOT KNOW WHAT KIND OF REPARATIONS WERE BEING TALKED ABOUT IN REGARDS TO JAPANESE.
Not that that didn’t stop you from making a remark about how they don’t need the money. Most people, when they don’t know what they are talking about, stop talking, find out some information, and THEN voice an opinion.
“Fight today’s fight, don’t bitch and moan about the fight your granddaddy lost. It’s sniveling and unproductive.”
well, jackal- if the US government would stop f*cking over the native Americans unto this day, there would be nothing to bitch about. But then again, when you post from the grand sense of entitlement white American dicks have nurtured, you can say things like,”Whatever happened to your great great great grandfather is just too bad. You deserve exactly squat as compensation for the injustices committed by dead people on dead people.”
If only things were over and done with in a generation or two- that’s the biggest delusion the “Me” generation has ever come up with. The past has determined what happens today. Maybe it’s the anthropologist’s viewpoint, but the it’s over and done idea is a big lie. And yes you can change things, but to think there is no influence on today’s society from what we’ve done in the past is to ignore the most important lesson of history. Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.
I would have to say that the Japanese, when they invaded China and Hong Kong, were the most violent.
A relative did the Bataan Death March in the Phillipines during WWII, later designated as a massive war crime. It was extreme abuse and murder during the 60 mile transfer of 75,000 Fillipino Prisioners of war. Very very bad stuff, torture.
The 1937 Rape of Nanking was something they do not admit to, but they raped, tortured, multilated and killed 100,000 people during the Sino-Japanese War. The Last Emperor by Bertolluci has a scene which is edited out in the Japanese showing.

I’m sure some of my irish relatives were denied jobs at some point in history so i too should get reparations.
