  1. dipster, have you ever been to thirdward? i was thinking about going to see a band play there (the bodega girls lol) this saturday, but if it’s gonna be nothing more than moonface and beardo infestation i think i might not go.

    *rob*

  2. I have no benefit from having an ancestor who had one slave (same first name as me). It was a random anecdote. But I do think the vestiges of black slavery are still severe and there’s been nothing even close to make up for it. The tax code is seriously whacked and we are spending on things that are total mistakes but in an ideal world, I wouldn’t mind the government trying reparations.

“The PLUSA Pres should not be walking on the bridge by himself.”

I usually escort him for protection (and not just because I have 1,000 condoms at home).

Pres, this CGar is not tall enough to cover you from a head shot and if he piles on top of you to shield you from danger, he’ll crush you. Fire & replace him. His Goat Boy friend is much better suited (with the wingman duties too)

what are we – making up fortune cookie fortunes?

    Yes, it works like this….

“Trying to untangle all those years of right and wrong is pointless.” IN BED.

  5. “By the time they figure all of that out, the lawyers will have made gazillions, and we won’t get squat”—
now you’re getting to the root of all this…..it is a plot by lawyers to suck out more money from all of us.
I think lawyers are root of all evil.

  6. “We study history so we don’t have to repeat its mistakes. But trying to right the wrongs of our ancestors is just absurd.”

I absolutely agree with this. I just get annoyed as hell when peopl act like they haven’t benefited from the wrongs of those who came before them.

    Related, but not really:
I personally benefited from prohibition. Because blacks were not given loans to buy homes and start businesses, a bunch of men in my family dealt in moonshine and other illegal substances at the time. They all ended up dead, but they managed to buy all their sisters homes and leave them money to put their kids through college and make other investments.
