I have minimizing down to a tee since I moved on to a trading floor. The problem for me is that this damn site is so effing slow and that it has to be refreshed constantly, and while it’s taking it’s time refreshing, the Brownstoner banner or a Toren ad are lingering on my screen.
And unfortunately, my manager sits 8 feet to my right, and our manager sits 4 feet to my left, and his manager sits 10 feet to my right, and their admin sits 4 feet behind me, and the table with the printer shared by 30 people and all the junk food that the entire floor eats is arm’s length from my desk, and everyone who is waiting to meet with my manager or his manager stands there eating and looking over my shoulder.
Mercifully, I now have 2 other desks (on high floors with great views) where I sit 2-3 days/week so I don’t have the same problem.
Donatella, jumped onto Yanks bus for 3+ weeks now. I’ve been forced to do this jump the last few yrs around this time of year – ie pissed off at Mets and football season hasnt started yet.
I had a Burberry raincoat once. Within 20 minutes of getting it cleaned, it was wrinkled and rumpled looking. I prayed for rain so nobody would look at it. I paid up for it too….
Ishtar I agree on the Burberry raincoat
they cost about $750 but if you don’t change sizes you could have it easily for 10 years and it will never go out of style!
“Serious question. I don’t think this artisan crap really has that big of an impact. It may seem like it’s everywhere, simply since you live in a ultra yuppie obnoxious neighborhood where that stuff thrives (and blog too, for that matter).”
I couldn’t agree more – no one in the country knows about Blue Marble except certain Brooklyn folks – maybe city folks but that’s about it!
M4L, about the Yankees, I know… they have been putting in a pretty shabby performance. They need me to show up and do some serious cheerleading – I’ll go to the Sep 21st game vs TB. They probably need YOU to do some cheerleading!
Have you become a Yankee fan yet? I know you are loyal to your original choices of teams, but have you started rooting for the Yankees?

m4l, none, chargers always play terrible first 5 or 6 games. Plus now that LT on jets you could say I’ve gone from one fiasco to another.
pete, $20 for a martini at penntop, so large I could have swam laps. Just had one, too many tourists up there.
Burberry is such a dated, old fuddy duddy brand (except the rain coats, which are classics)
quote:
$750 is insane for a kids coat no matter how much money you make. The grow so fast you won’t be able to get $750 worth of wears out of it.
uh, people who pay 750 dollars for a coat don’t wear it for more than one season anyway. that would be so crenate-dentate.
*rob*

“ET is ALL talk and ZERO action.”
Maybe you’re not the one I want to zero in on the action with 😛
