Honestly, there are pretty-ish parts of LA (Cobble is right, west side is better) but the real problem to me was that literally every person I met seemed as though they were on an audition waiting to be DISCOVERED for something!
Even in the grocery store, people were looking around puttin’ on a freakshow hoping a talent scout would pick their ass up for some commercial.

I’ve liked LA whenever I’ve been there. Probably seemed better than it was because I left NYC winter and arrived in mid 70’s California sunshine each time.

In 2005 I drove from LA to Monterey on the Pacific Coast Highway in a convertible. That was spectacular.
