  1. Beautiful day for the parade, yesterday. I could hear the music way back at my house, on Pacific Street. Lots of people out, and everyone was having a good time.

Won’t be around much for the next three days, got a gig. Don’t get into any controversial discussions without me.

  2. 53rd/lex not worst as far as general condition—- but because escalators always breaking and ongoing construction and overcrowding can get pretty scarey at times. Long waits to get out of station, etc, etc.

  3. Actually I’m happy with the job MM. People are less douchey than the last joint. If you’re going to be a deal guy, you’ve just got to kill it when there’s a deal. Unfortunately no way around that.

  4. “near the Pina Colada stand (those things were strong!)”

DH, I’m sorry, but I think it’s pretty well-established that having a Pina Colada is an automatic GOTD. There might be some leeway, though, if you asked them to hold the little umbrella.

  5. Lechecal, that sounds like a horrible surreal experience, all around. Also this job sounds horrible, thought you were getting out of the rat race. Was this “absolutely neccessary, need it over the holiday weekend” work yours because you are the new guy? Sounds like first year associate horribleness. Sometimes I’m glad my desire to be a lawyer lasted about a day, when I was in college. It only took one class, English Lit, no less, with a bunch of A type personality New York students to make me realize that arguing the law was not for me. It still amazes me how obnoxious they were, and this was when they were 19. Although, I probably could have been a good law scholar, but who knew that when you were in college?
