Lech, great point. that kind of ass-kissing is not something I see DIBS doing. am amazed he lasted longer than a month doing that

That kind of ass kissing/ ticket mongering actually isn’t what sales is all about in an investment bank anyway.

  2. Dona, yeah, totally agree – my point was that someone ordering a california roll has no business critiquing a restaurant.

My brother used to trade options. After that he drove a truck.

^^someone in that yelp posting on Sushi You panned it because the california roll wasn’t up to snuff. WTF?

Maybe because California roll is not a Japanese thing to begin with, maybe the owner doesn’t give a rats ass about erzatz phony New York City/LA inventions. Just a guess.

Shocking, who woulda thunk it, with all your charm?! : P

    Sorry you missed your anniversary.

Speaking of attorneys, I had dinner with one last night. This person is working on the Dreier mess. Fascinating to listen to stories about meeting him, his attitude now, and the complexity of unthreading that rat’s nest.

  5. Jessi, my cooworker used to be a sushi chef in NYC and his great friend owns Sushi Yu — he keeps telling me to go.
Haven’t been there yet…..btw, you watch tennis the way I do (and baseball too). Definately, focused on the “aesthetics” as well as the game itself. (i.e. before Derek Jeter gets up at the plate, I do a little sigh and say “Derek” sweetly…don’t know if you go that far…. 🙂
