  1. Yes the ‘A’ does further refine location, but so does the final part of the code. The extra letter is only used in central London postcodes (WC being “West Central”).

I think with the right street address it would get there OK, but not ideal to leave it off (e.g. there might also be a WC2X 1LS or something). My suggestion would be to leave off the 1LS and just send to WC2A.

Sorry about your step grandad, Jessi.

  2. youre probably screwed. fed ex kinda sucks. ups is much better to ship even tho i think they are more expensive. and yeah you have an extra character in that postal code. no clue which one it could be tho.

european postal codes are seriously stupid.

  3. A QUESTION FOR BRITS OR PEOPLE WHO SEND STUFF TO LONDON:

I have been trying to send a document to London by FEDEX.
The postal code is WC2A 1LS.

The FEDEX guy authoritatively told me “NOPE. Can’t send it. The Code doesn’t match the address.” Actually the code is correct. I asked our mailroom about it also (this is my document so don’t want to use them) and they also said that the code should be 6 digits.

Someone told me I could probably leave off the A after WC2 and it would get there OK. Is the “A” like the last 4 digits that we have on our postal codes — to further refine location.

I’ve got to get this out today. Any ideas?
