  1. I refuse to get up before the train stops. Empty train or otherwise. I’ve had too many close calls where the train has jerked and I almost fell. Not good. The people waiting to get on can wait a few more seconds. The train isn’t going to leave without you. And even if it does, there’s another one right behind it that looks just like the one you missed 🙂

As far as getting a seat, I feel like this. I paid $2.25 just like everyone else did. If there’s a seat there that I can fit into, I’m getting in it. Period. Unless you swiped your card twice, get yer effin foot/bag/luggage etc. off the seat next to you cause I’m sittin’ my ass down.

  2. Although I often disagree with ishtar :), I agree that most other cities (EXCEPT HONG KONG) have much more courteous commuters.

Forget it in Hong Kongon the train or an elevator….they just push right on no matter how many people standing at the door to exit.

  3. quote:
I guess he has nothing better to worry about than getting the seat he pays for on the subway. Glad he doesn’t drive–that’s the kind of attitude that causes many accidents on the road, the feeling that you own your little piece of the pavement.

    oh for f*ck’s sake. seriously?

    *rob*

  4. Well if nobody else is going to repost this from late in the OT yesterday, then I guess I should!

CGar: “Prezanon, will you be mounting a primary challenge this Fall to President Champion (nh)???”

prezanon: “CGar, mais non CGar. Il est president extraordinaire (also intelligent and dreamy-looking).”

  5. I hate those jerks who just start getting on the train while people are still getting off. Funny thing is that this is the ONLY major city I’ve experienced this in. SF, DC, Paris, Singapore, London, Tokyo…they all wait until passengers get off. Only in this place do people think it’s efficient to board a train while people are getting off.

  6. am I the only one who gets the “eyes” from ladies who wear those killer heels – ie trying to guilt me into giving up seat for them.

of course I never give up the seat. I dont feel bad for them. I like the view of a lady in those killer heels standing in front of me.
