Donatella may not have been trying to make an explicit association, but I have no hesitation in doing so. Right wing extremists are taking advantage of an ignorant populace to foment hatred for their own political gain. It’s beyond me how any intelligent person can defend such despicable tactics.

First line on the Cordoba initiative website starts “Cordoba Initiative seeks to actively promote engagement” (meaning between Muslims and the West as the top line is “Improving Muslim-West Relations”
So maybe instead of saying ‘force’ engagement I could say ‘promote’ but my point totally stands.
*They* are the ones wanting / choosing to engage.

No. I was talking about immoderation. Hate. Public discourse which blanket villifies Islam and conflates Islam with terrorism.
