Donatella, you are presuming that all ferry riders have swiped their card somewhere along the line. I’m not so sure. And I’m very sure the tourists are not getting off the ferry and onto a bus to roll off into the sunset.
I’m for the one fare system too. If you’ve swiped along the way, when you swipe to get on the ferry, you’ll get a “x-fer” read out like the rest of city commuters. But if not, you pay up. Like the rest of us
if people really want to get bikes to have to be registered and bikers to get a license for them to ride in the street you need to think laterally rather vertically. do what people in the hood do all the time, walk right in front of car and hope to get hit, hit enough to sue, but obviously not hit enough to die. bonus points if can do it in such a way where youll also collect a nice fat disability check for the rest of your life. you just do this bikes. i never stop for bikes when im walking around or crossing the street, if they are gonna hit me they are gonna hit me and they will get sued.. pediestrians always have the right of way. even in the street. ill be the one who wins in court. if enough people do there where it’s become an obvious problem legistature will be chary enough to make sure they ahve to register bikes.
“Not that I want to change the topic or anything, but ENY, what is this about Johnny Damon possibly going back to the Red Sox (that would be pretty strange for him). There is talk about his being “traded” but he has a “trade block” clause.”
Damon was placed on waivers by Detroit and was claimed by the Red Sox. Because he has a no-trade clause in his contract, he can refuse to go to the Red Sox. Since this has happened he said he enjoyed being the Yanks MUCH more than his time with the Red Sox. But, he also appears intrigued about returning to Boston (where he is still a big hero to most folks) and said he will have to think about it.
“probably the same person who keeps retweeting the OT thread!”
