  1. Yes, I think you are right Kens, I was just taking a few neighborhoods where one might think that there is “value”. The variables to me are: ease of transportation into mid-town, peaceful vibe, enough services, housing stock and cost.

  2. Sorry, Ishtar, but I’ve seen a lot worse.

Nostrand’s seen better days, but you are so busy holding your nose in the air, you’re missing the flowers amongst the thorns. Specifically Barbara’s Flowers on Bergen, which has been there forever, and held strong, Garvey’s Hardware, an insurance company, and several long time restaurants, not to mention Bedford Presbyterian. There are also some brand new places like Joey’s Lunchbox, which has great food, and a nice space. Like most people, I’d love to have more, better storefronts and products, and I hope the new BID can get people to clean up better, that’s the worst part of the street, the litter. But not walk a dog on Nostrand? Please.

  3. the R used to be a GREAT commute into manhattan before they gave away the M train to stupid williamsburg.. and did u hear that williamsburg is now getting their own FERRY!!!!! and it’s going to cost almost 6 million dollars! wtf!? why does the city always bend over backwards for those annoying condo dwellers? they dont invest anything into the city. they just come here and take take take and bitch and whine and bitch and whine until they get their way! grrrr. THEIR OWN FERRY!!!

  4. My studio will probably be a pretty decent downpayment (15-20%) on a nice house in Crown Heights. I like my area though or would settle for Ditmas Park, Greenwood Heights, Windsor Terrace, South Slope, Park Slope (If I could afford a house in either).
